ANALYSIS OF SPEECH ACTS AND LANGUAGE STYLE IN DIALOGUE- DRAMA SCRIPT "REPUBLIC OF BAGONG" BY N. RINATIARNO

Abstract

The formulation of the research problem in this thesis is as follows. 1) What are the intrinsic elements in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno? 2) What are the locutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Rinatiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere? 3) What are the illocutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere? 4) What are the perlocutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere? 5) What is the style of language in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on locution, illocution, perlocution?. Research objectives: 1) to find out the intrinsic elements in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno; 2) want to know the locutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Rinatiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere; 3) want to know the illocutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere; 4) want to know the perlocutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere; 5) want to know the style of language in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on locution, illocution, perlocution. Method: qualitative descriptive method. Technique: data acquisition technique (literature study technique and documentary analysis) and data processing technique (analysis). The population in this study is all the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno. Then the sampling technique in this study uses a purposive technique. The sample in this study is the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno which has locutionary, illocutionary, perlocutionary, and figurative language acts. The conclusions that are the research in this thesis are as follows. 1) The intrinsic elements in the dialogues of the drama "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno can be concluded as theme, conflict, plot, characters and characterization, setting, dialogue, and message. 2) The locutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the atmosphere setting can be concluded that the locutionary speech act that is more often used is asking. 3) The illocutionary speech act in the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the atmosphere setting can be concluded that the locutionary speech act that is more often used is informing. 4) Perlocutionary speech acts in the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno based on the setting of the atmosphere, it can be concluded that the perlocutionary speech acts that many authors use are convincing. 5) Language styles based on locution, illocution, perlocution in the dialogues of the drama script "Republik Bagong" by N. Riantiarno can be concluded that the language style that many authors use is assonance.
