This research was conducted based on the author's desire to know the content of the political-themed anecdotal text in the book "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam and its suitability with teaching materials in high school. The formulation of the problem in this research is. 1) What is the structure of the political-themed anecdotal text in the book entitled "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam? 2) Can the political-themed anecdotal text in the book entitled "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam be used as an alternative choice of Indonesian language teaching materials in high school? The purpose of this research 1) To find out the structure of the political-themed anecdotal text in the book entitled "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam. 2) To find out the possibility of the political-themed anecdotal text in the book entitled "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam being used as an alternative choice of Indonesian language teaching materials in high school. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The research technique consists of data acquisition techniques in the form of literature and documentation studies, and data processing techniques by reading a collection of anecdotal texts contained in the research object, selecting political-themed anecdotal texts, analyzing the structure of political-themed anecdotal texts, and concluding them. The population in this study is all anecdotal texts contained in the book entitled "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam which consists of 131 anecdotal text titles. The sample is all political-themed anecdotal texts in the book entitled "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam which consists of 20 anecdotal text titles. The conclusions from the results of the research that has been done are as follows. 1) Of the 20 political-themed anecdotal text titles in the book "Gus Dur Ku, Gus Dur Anda, Gus Dur Kita" by Muhammad AS Hikam, there are 13 political-themed anecdotal text titles that have a complete structure. Namely anecdotal texts entitled "Indonesia - Malaysia Fishing Competition", "Post-Reformation Corruption Octopus", "Gus Dur Longing Fever", "Golput and Hell", "Don't Wake the Sleeping Cow", "Kyai and Honest Members of the House of Representatives", "Secretary General of Political Parties and Corruptors", "Madurese Voters", "Angels and Former KPK Members", "Doctors and Liver Transplant Patients", "NU Night Market", "Angels and Politicians", "Results of Corruption". 2) Seeing the suitability of political-themed anecdotal texts in the book "My Gus Dur, Your Gus Dur, Our Gus Dur" by Muhammad AS Hikam reviewed from the structure of the anecdotal text with the Core Competencies and Basic Competencies of the 2013 Curriculum in high school, adolescent development psychology, and adolescent language development can be used as an alternative selection of Indonesian language teaching materials in high school. So it can be concluded that the analysis of the structure of the anecdote text in the book "My Gus Dur, Your Gus Dur, Our Gus Dur" by Muhammad AS Hikam can be used as an alternative for selecting Indonesian language teaching materials in high school.
