APPLICATION OF THE DEMONSTRATION LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENTS' ABILITY IN HOSTING EVENTS IN CLASS VIII A OF SMP NEGERI 2 GARAWANGI

Abstract

The process of learning to speak in reality is very worrying because there are still many students who are shy, do not dare to appear and are not confident, even though at a glance the students are able to speak in a loud voice but when asked to come forward to appear they do not dare, from a class of 30 people who dared to appear to host the event only 25% or 8 people. Based on the statement above, the author tried and thought to find a solution to overcome the problem. The author conducted a study conducted in class VIII A with the title "Implementation of Demonstration Learning Models to Improve Students' Ability to Host Events in Class VIII A SMP Negeri 2 Garawangi" Academic Year 2013/2014. From the data in the form of a questionnaire obtained a picture, that in general students are happy with the varied Indonesian Language Learning, so they are no longer shy and dare to appear in public to host the event. In accordance with the formulated objectives, this study aims to improve students' speaking skills in hosting events and it turns out that after conducting the research, it can be seen from the accurate data proven by the development of the first cycle, the second cycle and the third cycle increasing from 25%, 60% to 100%. The final result of this study, the author can conclude that, the Application of the Demonstration Learning Model in learning to host events is very appropriate for improving speaking skills.
