DIFFERENCES IN THE ABILITY TO WRITE NARRATIVE ESSAY THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING AND EXAMPLE NONEXAMPLE METHOD IN GRADE VII STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 1 KADUGEDE, KUNINGAN REGENCY IN THE 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR

Abstract

The title of this research is The difference in the ability to write narrative essays through the application of problem based learning method with example nonexample on seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency in the 2014/2015 Academic Year. Problem Formulation: 1) How is the ability of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency in the 2014/2015 Academic Year in writing narrative essays through problem based learning method?, 2) How is the ability of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency in the 2014/2015 Academic Year in writing narrative essays through example nonexample method?, 3) Is there a difference in the ability to write narrative essays through the application of problem based learning method with example nonexample on seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency in the 2014/2015 Academic Year?. Method: quasi experiment or pseudo experiment. Conclusion: 1) The ability of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency in the 2014/2015 academic year in writing narrative essays through the problem based learning method is in the good category, this is proven by obtaining an average score of 79.47 with an interval of 71 – 85. So the hypothesis is accepted. 2) The ability of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency in the 2014/2015 academic year in writing narrative essays through the example nonexample method is in the sufficient category, this is proven by obtaining an average score of 65.87 with an interval of 41 – 70. So the hypothesis is accepted. 3) There is a difference in the ability to write narrative essays through the application of the problem based learning method with example nonexample in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede, Kuningan Regency, 2014/2015 academic year. This is proven by the results of the hypothesis test calculation obtained t hit (5.686) > t daf (1.67), so Hi is accepted.
