DIFFERENCES IN LEARNING OUTCOMES OF STUDENTS OF GRADE XI OF SMA NEGERI 1 CIAWIGEBANG IN THE 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR IN LEARNING TO WRITE SHORT STORIES USING PICTURE SERIES AND NARRATIVE TEXT MEDIA

Abstract

The research problem is: 1) How are the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciawigebang in learning to write short stories using series of pictures? 2) How are the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciawigebang in learning to write short stories using narrative text media? 3) Is there a difference in the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciawigebang in learning to write short stories using series of pictures and narrative text media? Method: real experimental method Conclusion: Based on the data and data processing, the researcher obtained the following results. 1) The ability to write short stories using series of pictures is categorized as good. Based on data processing, the average value is 66 in the range of 60-80. So, the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is accepted. 2) The ability to write short stories using narrative text is categorized as sufficient. Based on data processing, the average value is 58 in the range of 50-60. So, the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is accepted. 3) There is a significant difference between the ability to write short stories using series of pictures and narrative text media in grade XI IPS 4 and XI IPS 5 students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciawigebang in the 2014/2015 academic year. This is proven by the results of the calculation with the t test which produces a calculated t greater than the t table, namely t count 4.12 > t table 1.66. This means that the ability to write short stories using series of pictures is better than narrative text media.
