ANALYSIS OF DIALOGUE SENTENCES IN THE DRAMA SCRIPT "ON ONE DAY" BY ARIFIN C. NOER

Abstract

The title of this research is Analysis of Dialogue Sentences in the Drama Script “On One Day” by Arifin C. Noer (A Pragmatic Analysis of Deixis and Presupposition). Problem formulation: 1) how is the persona deixis (person) contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script “On One Day” by Arifin C. Noer?; 2) how is the spatial deixis contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script “On One Day” by Arifin C. Noer?; 3) how is the time deixis contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script “On One Day” by Arifin C. Noer?; 4) how is the presupposition contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script “On One Day” by Arifin C. Noer? Method: descriptive qualitative. Conclusion: 1) the persona deixis contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script “On One Day” by Arifin C. Noer is the deixis sayadiluarkan oleh tokoh Kakek, Nenek, Nyonya Wenas, Pesuruh, dan Novia ketika berdialat dengan tokoh lain; 2) spatial deixis contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script "On One Day" by Arifin C. Noer, namely the deixis itu, here, here, room, this, house, practice room, and behind, uttered by the characters Grandfather, Grandmother, Mrs. Wenas, and Novia when having a dialogue with other characters; 3) time deixis contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script "On One Day" by Arifin C. Noer, namely the deixis now, before, later, yesterday, today, tomorrow, a few days ago, eleven years ago, this morning, and later uttered by the characters Grandfather and Grandmother when having a dialogue with other characters; 4) presuppositions contained in the dialogue sentences in the drama script "On One Day" by Arifin C. Noer can be concluded that some of the dialogue sentences uttered by the characters use sentences that are easy to understand in everyday life, but the dialogue sentences actually imply other meanings, thus giving rise to assumptions in interpreting the dialogue sentences.
