PELANGGARAN PRINSIP SOPAN SANTUN PADA DIALOG ACARA MATA NAJWA EPISODE MELIHAT KE TIMUR

Abstract

Language is like an endless field to be cultivated or made an object of research by researchers, the dynamic nature of language allows researchers to find new cases or even contemporary theories. In addition, the breadth of language studies makes it possible for language to be studied or researched from various perspectives, both internal and external to the language itself. In this study entitled Violations of the Principles of Politeness in the Mata Najwa Dialogue Event Episode Looking to the East, language is studied from the perspective of the principles of politeness proposed by Robin Lakoff as a benchmark for politeness and aims to find or identify violations committed that are not in accordance with the rules of politeness proposed by Lakoff. From the results of the research conducted, it shows that there are still many violations, both violations of the rules of formality, the rules of indecisiveness and the rules of equality or companionship. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research while the data collection procedure in this study uses the listening method, namely a) listening technique; b) note-taking technique; c) selection technique; d) analysis.
