THE USE OF THE NOVEL PEREMPUAN DI POTIK ZOL BY NAWAL EL SAADAWI AS A TEACHING MATERIAL IN DISCOURSE LEARNING FOR STUDENTS OF THE PBSI STUDY PROGRAM IN THE 2017/2018 ACADEMIC YEAR

Abstract

Teaching materials are one of the very important aspects in learning, ideally a teacher makes his own teaching materials according to the material that will be taught to students, so that it makes it easier for students to learn the material. Sources of teaching materials can be from books, modules or literary works for example the results of novel analysis because novels are literary works that are full of meaning. This research is a follow-up research from last year entitled Critical discourse analysis in the novel Perempuan di Titik Nol Larya Nawal El Saadawi seen from the characters and characterization, conflict and morals. Furthermore, the results of the research were tested as teaching materials for discourse courses with the title of this research The Use of the Novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol Karyanawal El Saadawi as Teaching Materials in Discourse Learning for PBSI Study Program Students in the 2017/2018 Academic Year. The formulation of the problem in this research is (1) How are the results of learning Indonesian language discourse before the use of teaching materials from the analysis of the novel Perempuan di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadawi in PBSI Uniku students in the 2017-2018 academic year? (2) How are the results of learning Indonesian language discourse after using teaching materials based on the analysis of the novel Perempuan di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadawi for PBSI Uniku students in the 2017-2018 academic year? (3) Is the novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadawi effective in learning the Indonesian language discourse course for PBSI Uniku students in the 2017-2018 academic year? The purpose of this study is (1) To find out the results of learning Indonesian language discourse before using teaching materials based on the analysis of the novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadawi for PBSI Uniku students in the 2017-2018 academic year. (2) Want to know the results of learning Indonesian language discourse after using teaching materials from the analysis of the novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadawi on PBSI Uniku students in the 2017-2018 academic year. (3) Want to know the effectiveness of using teaching materials from the analysis of the novel Perempuan di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadawi on PBSI Uniku students in the 2017-2018 academic year. The hypothesis of this research is that the use of the novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol by Nawal El Saadwi as teaching material for the Indonesian Language Discourse course for PBSI students in the 2017/2018 academic year is effective in learning. The method used in this research is the experimental research method. The results of this research are (1) The results of learning discourse before using the novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol as teaching material are on average 64.29. (2) The results of learning discourse after using the novel Perempuan Di Titik Nol as teaching material are on average 75.96. (3) There is a significant difference in the average learning outcomes of discourse analysis between before and after using the novel Perempuan Dititik Nol as teaching material. This shows that the novel Perempuan Dititik Nol is effective for use as teaching material in this learning.
