In its implementation, a descriptive research method was used, and the research subjects were 29 class VIII A students of SMP Negeri 2 Darma. The results of the learning assessment in students' speed reading abilities using the practice method in class VIII A of SMP Negeri 2 Darma have shown an increase. This can be seen from the percentage of success in reading speeds of 200 wpm or more from cycle I to cycle III, namely, in cycle I 22 people (75%) increased to 23 people (79%) in cycle II, and in cycle III to 28 people (96%). This shows that the practice method is very effective in improving students' speed reading abilities.
