THE INEFFECTIVENESS OF SENTENCES IN OFFICIAL LETTERS AT THE VILLAGE LEVEL IN DARMA DISTRICT, KUNINGAN REGENCY AND PROPOSED PATTERNS FOR IMPROVEMENT

Abstract

This research is entitled "The Ineffectiveness of Sentences in Official Letters at the Village Level in Darma District, Kuningan Regency and a Proposed Pattern for Language Training." The purpose of this study is to identify the ineffectiveness of sentences in official letters created by village administrative staff in the Darma District and to produce a proposed pattern for Indonesian language training based on the analysis of sentence errors in these official letters. The research approach and method used is a qualitative approach, with a qualitative descriptive method. From this research, 19 official letters were collected, and the results of the analysis are as follows: (1) The ineffectiveness of sentences in official letters from the village government in Darma District, Kuningan Regency, shows that many letters use ineffective sentences. For example, the sentences are too long, many unnecessary words are used, and there is a lack of clarity in the subject and predicate. (2) Based on the analysis of the ineffectiveness of sentences in the official letters, a proposed pattern for language training is developed in the form of a language training implementation plan. The material to be trained includes word choice, sentence usage, and systematization. The method will be through direct practice packaged in the form of a workshop. Meanwhile, the evaluation will be carried out through the process of direct practice in writing official letters.
