INTERNAL CONFLICTS OF THE CHARACTERS PAK FAUZAN AND PAK ISKANDAR IN THE NOVEL "KAMBING DAN HUJAN" (A Study of Literary Psychology)

This study aims to determine the form of inner conflict between Pak Fauzan and Pak Iskandar in the novel "Goat and Rain" by Mahfud Ikhwan. The problem in this study is that there was an inner conflict that occurred in the figures of Pak Fauzan and Pak Iskandar. The inner conflict resulted in a psychological disturbance on the two figures. To explore this point, Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory was used. Psychoanalytic theory is used as a dissection of inner conflicts that occur. This research is a qualitative research. The data source used is the novel "Goat and Rain", while the data used is in the form of dialogue and narration in the novel. The results of this study are in the form of inner conflicts, among others: (1) There are conflicts that are not as desired. (2) Expectations that are not in accordance with reality. (3) Anxiety in facing problems.
