EXPLORING THE VALUES OF THE SINGO ULUNG TRADITION AS RELEVANT TO LEARNING

Abstract

Instilling the noble values ​​of the Indonesian nation in educational institutions is done, among other things, through the Indonesian language subject. This is where education and local culture meet. Language learning is used to communicate the local wisdom of the local community, one example being Singo Ulung in Bondowoso. Effective learning is contextual learning. Contextual learning means that what students learn is in accordance with the real conditions experienced by the students themselves. Students will easily understand the learning when the learning material is directly related to real life. Students do not have to imagine an event that exists only in the text.
