BENUAQ KALIMANTAN LOCALITY IN THE NOVEL OF API AWAN ASAP BY KORRIE LAYUN RAMPAN

This research used the perspective of sociology of literature with the aims to identify elements of Benuaq locality in novel of Api Awan Asap by Korrie Layun Rampan. The type of this research was qualitative research used descriptive analysis method. The results showed that the element of Benuaq locality identified in the novel of Api awan Asap were locality in community system in the form of deliberation and embrace the leadership system called as Petinggi Jepi; art system in the form of singing and weaving of cloth of ulap doyo; livelihood systems by cultivating plantation and agricultural land; as well as locality at the location of custom house lou.
