Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe language crimes that have legal impacts on expressive illocutionary speech acts in the form of insults, slander, and curses. It was found in the research that language crimes have legal impacts on expressive illocutionary speech acts in the form of insults, slander, and curses. First, the forms of insult illocutionary speech acts carried out by social media users in the pre- and post-election period of the 2020 Makassar Mayoral election found several forms of illocutionary speech acts of expressive insults, namely nonsense, just talking, using your brain, lying, low IQ, embarrassing yourself, empty brain, empty barrels make loud noises, lots of ballenas, two-headed snakes, and a thousand faces. Second, the illocutionary forms of slander carried out by social media users in the pre- and post-election period of the 2020 Makassar Mayor found several forms of illocutionary expressive speech acts of slander, namely, no performance at all given, committing corruption, committing fraud, prospective corruptors, being provocateurs, committing cunning, and getting help. Third, the illocutionary forms of slander carried out by social media users in the pre- and post-election period of the 2020 Makassar Mayor found several forms of illocutionary expressive speech acts of curses, namely, telaso, sundala, have no shame, hypocrite, candidate for hell expert, balao, greedy for wealth, smell of earth, gutter mouth, kongkong, and tolo-tolo.
