IMPROVING THE ABILITY STUDENTS TO ANALYZE THE STRUCTURE OF PERSUASION TEXT USING THE PROBLEM BASED INTRODUCTION LEARNING MODEL

Abstract

 This study aims to improve the ability to analyze the structure of persuasive texts in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Mare, Bone Regency by using the Problem Based Introduction learning model. This research method is classroom action research (CAR). This research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely; planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Cycle I and Cycle II consisted of two meetings with a minimum completeness of 75.00. The subject of this research is the ability to analyze the structure of the persuasion text of class VIII B students of SMP Negeri 1 Mare, Bone Regency totaling 22 people using the Problem Based Introduction learning model. Data analysis techniques were carried out quantitatively and descriptive statistics. Based on the results of data analysis cycle I and cycle II, it is known that the average value obtained by students in analyzing the structure of persuasive texts increases. In the first cycle the student's incompleteness was 77.27%, so the average score of students was 60.68 (low ability), in the second cycle the average value increased to 85.68 (able), the student's completeness achieved was 86, 36%. Student learning activities in the first cycle was 65% (enough) and the second cycle increased to 100% (very good). The teacher's teaching activity in the first cycle was 70% (enough) and the second cycle increased to 96% (very good).
