PRINCIPLES OF COOPERATION IN THE DISCUSSION OF JAVA FAMILY COMMUNICATIONS IN KELURAHAN KEDIRI

Language as a communication tool is always used by humans in every social activity. In the process of communicating, a person tends to face obstacles that cause communication to not work as expected. This study aims to describe the compliance and violation of the principle of cooperation in the discourse of Javanese family communication in Kediri Village. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The research data is in the form of conversational speech in a Javanese family environment. The research data was collected through the watch-record-record technique. The collected data was then analyzed descriptively using interactive techniques. The results of the study indicate that in the discourse of family communication generally always adhere to the principle of cooperation. Violations of the cooperative principle are also found in family communication discourse but do not dominate. Violations of the cooperative principle are sometimes carried out intentionally to achieve other goals in a wider context.
