Abstract

The research problem in this article is what forms of language actions are used by Indonesian language teachers in teaching and learning activities at SMK Brass in the 2012/2012 academic year? The purpose of this study is to determine the forms of language actions used by Indonesian language teachers in teaching and learning activities at SMK Brass in the 2011/2012 academic year. In this study, the author used analytical and descriptive methods to obtain data, which was analyzed using observation and documentation techniques. The population in this study was all Indonesian language teachers at SMK Brass. The results of this analysis can be summarized as follows: 1) The locution uttered by Indonesian language teachers in learning activities at SMK Brass throughout the district based on the type of locution language action consisted of 162 utterances, consisting of 26 narrative language action utterances, 12 descriptive language action utterances, and 124 informative language action utterances. 2) The illocution uttered by Indonesian language teachers in learning activities at SMK Brass throughout the district -kabupaten based on illocutionary criteria consisted of 179 illocutionary language acts, consisting of 6 assertive illocutionary language acts, 146 directive illocutionary language acts, 10 commissive illocutionary language acts, and 9 expressive illocutionary language acts; 9 declarative illocutionary acts, and 8 declarative illocutionary acts; 3) Perlocutionary acts performed by Indonesian language teachers in learning activities at vocational schools in Kuningan Regency based on the parts of perlocutionary acts contained in 95 utterances, consisting of perlocutionary acts that encourage partners to learn about something (5 utterances), perlocutionary acts that make partners say to do something (69 utterances), and perlocutionary acts that make partners say something to think about (21 utterances).
