PENERAPAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN QUESTION STUDENT HAVE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENEMUKAN GAGASAN UTAMA DALAM TEKS WACANA PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 2 CIGUGUR KABUPATEN KUNINGAN TAHUN AJARAN 2012/2013

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of students to identify the main ideas in discourse texts, as evidenced by the results of a test on identifying main ideas in discourse texts, in which 70% of students scored below the minimum passing grade of 71. The problems addressed in this study are: 1) How can the learning process of identifying main ideas in discourse texts be implemented using the Question Student Have learning method for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, in the 2012/2013 academic year? 2) How is the learning process of finding the main idea in discourse texts using the Question Student Have learning method implemented for seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, in the 2012/2013 academic year? and 3) What are the results of learning to find the main idea in a text using the Question Student Have learning method for seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, in the 2012/2013 academic year? The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the implementation plan for learning to find the main idea in a discourse text using the Question Student Have learning method for seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, in the 2012/2013 academic year, 2) to determine the implementation of learning to find the main idea in discourse texts using the Question Student Have learning method for seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, in the 2012/2013 academic year, and 3) to determine the learning outcomes of finding the main idea in a text using the Question Student Have learning method for seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency, in the 2012/2013 academic year. The method used in this study was classroom action research conducted to improve rational skills and improve the learning process. The data collection technique used in this study was a test to find the main ideas in discourse texts. The research subjects were 24 students in class VII.2. Based on the data processing in cycle 1, the average score was 68.417, which was below the minimum passing score (KKM), while cycle 2 obtained an average score of 80.54, which was above the minimum passing score (KKM) of 71. This proves that the application of the Question Student Have learning method has succeeded in improving the ability to find the main idea in discourse texts among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Cigugur, Kuningan Regency.
